Preamble:
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
The preamble seeks to define our rights as American citizen's in a brief summation of our constitutional goals. By establishing justice, we seek a representative government that will provide us with law enforcement and equality. A more perfect union suggests we should strive to continuously improve ourselves, although it first suggested that we should remain better governed than England. Domestic Tranquility ensures we have the right to live peacefully within our country. Our military and boarder security are outlined by "providing a common defense." The general welfare is provided by nationwide education, social security, healthcare, food services, and countless other services in effect to help those in need. Liberty equates to the freedom that is our right as Americans.
